Gym, Pot Luck and Australia Day

So last Saturday me and my sister went to sign up for the gym. Before that I feel like there was a void in my life for the past few weeks. Never did I figure it coincides with my gym membership expiring end of last year. So renewing it and going to gym again was great. Joined with Goodlife again because I like the instructors there and it's near. As any gym junkie could attest, you just need to adrenaline going every day. If not you just get on a downer and don't know what to do. But it's good now.

I don't really use the gym equipment, but go to classes. Nothing like someone telling you what to do and your brain can sort of go on autopilot and just work out. Also an instructor helps a lot in the self discipline department. Say lifiting weights outside one would probably do 20-30 minutes with lots of breaks in between, but being in the class you could just do 100 reps easy because there's someone pushing you on, and there's music also. So I do lots of Les Mills Classes; Pump, Combat, RPM, Attack, Balance.

 Body Combat still my favourite!

Then there was pot luck at my sister's friend's place. was a last minute thing which I made some chocolate-marshmallow-ice cream-sorbet-mousse thing. Well the recipe was kinda crap so that was what it came out to be. Looked and tasted okay, but was very unsatisfying to make. It was just putting in pre processed junk which involved very little actual cooking. So, I might as well have bought something. And weird thing was we ended up with 5 desserts and 3 actual things to eat for dinner only. So that was quite funny.

Then went to BoB's for Australia Day. This was actually the first time I've been back to Australia this early, so in 8 years of being here this was the first time I saw the fire works. Had bbq during the day, played some Guitar Hero, then saw fireworks. Was a good day.

Picture of fireworks at Perth Australia Day which I took...........off the net

Running Again and Other Things

I did 3 runs last week and thought to do 12km run on the weekend but did not manage it because did not feel like it. Well, it's Thursday now and this is the first time I have ran this week, had a few things going on that was bothering me so had no mood to run. So I did the same route again this morning, which was a bit shorter than my usual 6 km route. I measured it on a google map tool on Trails and found that it was only 4.44 km! And that took me 30 minutes. So that means I'm actually running so slow. If it were 12 km that would be 1.5 hours. That is rubbish time, I need to run faster. Well, to be fair I'm not running constantly in the shorter run, i run some, walk some and spring a little. Need to be improving the fitness levels.

Also hoping to start playing soccer on Sundays again, jogging is just forward movement and I need to train for short bursts and sidway movements too to strengthen those muscles. Hopefully with that my running times will improve also.

And I need to join gym again, need to do lots of different kind of exercises, quite boring to keep repeating just one kind. The GoodLife near my place is "exclusive" so the price is like 700+ for 13 months, and there's another gym called Figure Factory nearby and it's only 600+ for 12 months, but Figure Factory used to be Zest's and they changed management. Heard from some people that Figure Factory management isn't too good and I'm afraid that they might close down within their year too. So if GoodLife can be negotiated to drop their price to about Figure Factory's I will rejoin with them. Need my Body Combat, Balance, RPM, Attack and Pump!!!
